Settings that bit us
- Bot Fight Mode blocked Google. It returned 403 to real crawlers on one of our sites. Test your pages as Googlebot and YandexBot through Cloudflare after any security change.
- Browser Cache TTL overrides your origin’s Cache-Control, so a changed CSS or JS file can stay stale for hours. Use new file names for changed static files, or purge.
- Use SSL mode “Full (strict)” with a free Cloudflare Origin CA certificate (valid up to 15 years) on your server.
- Email address obfuscation rewrites mailto links; turn it off if you rely on them.
